Joshua Speed

I earned my spurs in the train-yard world, hammering’
studs along the tracks,
*If you ain’t got a home and you’re off of the road,
Keep your soldiers straight in line,
When the night air is filled with flames from the mill,
Direct your soul into the light,
There’s no one here that leaves alive.
Joshua Speed our hearts are incomplete, only you can
understand,
What’s with this dark place, a judicial mistake, bleed
the guard and free my hands hands.*
The kings have all come with their arms up to the sun;
they lose to the rules of the game,
The highway’s alive with a tailwind behind, get on
your horse and ride.*
